String of community events highlight 4th of July
This Independence Day holiday promises to be a busy one in and around North Platte.
Activities begin with an All-American Family Day Friday in Cody Park.
There will be activities for all ages. The event is open to the public.
The annual North Platte Optimists fireworks show will be at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. This year, the Municipal Band will play at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m. or whenever it gets dark enough.
The Sutherland celebration is July 3-4 downtown and at the rodeo grounds. The rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. There will be kids games, a parade and community BBQ on the 4th.
